Political leaders from Tana River, Isiolo and Marsabit counties want the Jubilee administration to consider them for political appointments in exchange for support in the 2017 polls.

The leaders under the banner 'TIM' said the three counties had long been marginalised and it was time they were also recognised as Kenyan citizens.

Led by Saku MP Dido Rasso, the group insisted that they are in Jubilee to stay and fight for space, and they will support both President Uhuru Kenyatta and and his deputy William Ruto's second term bids.

"We have formed TIM to bring together communities living in Tana River, Isiolo and Marsabit since they are pastoralists and must remain united if we are to prosper," said Mr Rasso.

Speaking at Maanzoni Lodge, the leaders who comprised elders, youths, women and politicians, vowed to support the Jubilee re-election plan under TIM and urged neighbouring county leaders to support their strategy.

Rasso argued that they first helped form the Jubilee coalition and played a key role in propelling it to power in 2013 and would do so in 2017, but should be considered for public appointments.

Bura MP Ali Wario maintained that the Jubilee government had remained steadfast in the fight against corruption, tribalism and hatred among communities in Kenya.

"We know and have seen that the Jubilee government has been on the warpath to clear corruption. Corruption, tribalism and hatred will be finished by the Jubilee government," said Mr Wario.

The lawmakers announced that they would traverse the three counties and popularise the formation of one political party, Jubilee Party, which they argued would unite not only the communities in the TIM region but also Kenyans at large.

Mr Wario rooted for the creation of political appointments and employment opportunities for the region's youths.
