Now that gay marriage is being legalized, what happens to all the teachings about bible? I mean I grew up knowing that a marriage union is between man and woman as the bible says but what is happening today? I am not judging any gay person, but since the gay marriage is being or rather has already being legalized is that union right? Legally yes it may be, but according to the bible teachings is it right?
Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said in a statement, “Jesus Christ, with great love, taught unambiguously that from the beginning marriage is the lifelong union of one man and one woman. As Catholic bishops, we follow our Lord and will continue to teach and to act according to this truth,” This is what the Christian teachings say but then how is the gay marriage done in a church. All over the world including Kenya the issue of gay people wanting their marriage legalized has become food for thought. Some people say that it is right while others really condemn it.
Gay marriage has become a constitutional right in supreme courts and people are actually embracing it and are happy about it. In the USA, the issue has become so serious that there is the threat that churches which do not perform gay marriage will be exempted their tax- deductible status as well as legal attacks. I am not sure where this world is going but so far the early signs are not good at all.
For those who are embracing this act, do you think God is happy with it? Are people born gay or do they choose to be gay? I really don’t comprehend this but my prayers are that we should try and see how the society will grow in years to come with the legalization of gay marriage.
