MPs yesterday said they will summon Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to explain why he banned prayer meetings for national examinations candidates.

Mid last month Dr Matiang'i announced that no prayer sessions will be allowed for candidates during the third term, effectively ending the tradition of parents and guardians gathering in their children's schools a few days before the exams.

The move is among a raft of measures the CS announced to reduce cases of exams cheating.
