Over 30 University of Nairobi students arrested during a protest over elections have been released.
The learners were opposing the election of Babu Owino (above) as chairman of the Student Organisation of Nairobi University for a fourth time.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome ordered the release of the students to enable them sit their examinations that begin this week. “We warned them in the evening and they pledged to observe peace,” he said.
