Miss Kenya International, Eunice Atieno Onyango, 22, was crowned Miss International second runner-up at the 55th Miss International Beauty Pageant.
Eunice also received the special award of Miss International Africa. She beat 72 others in the fourth largest pageant in the world hosted at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan.
“This is a proud moment for Kenya. As we excel in sports, we too have shown great prowess in other talent and our girls have proven to be among the most beautiful inside out. Africa is rising, shaking the ground in Japan is no mean achievement,” Atieno said.
She was crowned among three others in the Miss Kenya contest in August.
Miss Kenya sends three delegates to world beauty contests namely Miss International, Miss Grand International and Miss Earth.
Miss Grand concluded on October 25, where Elaine Mwangi managed to make it to the top 20 in National Costume category in the contest held in Bangkok, Thailand.
