Four people have died and five others hospitalised after consuming suspected illicit brew in Nandi County.

Those admitted are fighting for their lives at Kapsabet hospital suffering serious side-effects.

One has been rendered blind while another is in a coma. The deaths come in the wake of President Uhuru Kenyatta's order on crackdown on illicit brew across the country.

Nandi county Commissioner Matilda Sakwa said police have arrested a suspect caught selling the killer brew to wines and spirits operators in Kapsabet town.
