Friday's Jamhuri day celebrations were graced by dignitaries from around the world who gathered to mark Kenya's 51 years since Independence. Presidents and representatives from the East Africa Region were also in attendance in the fete that was filled with pomp and colour.

Security was heightened at the stadium and around the country as Kenya marked 51 years of Independence.
