SALGAA, KENYA: A five year old boy is nursing serious injuries at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru after he was knocked down by a personal vehicle while crossing the road at Salgaa area long Nakuru Eldoret Highway.

Confirming the incident Rongai OCPD Joseph Mwamburi said the boy Brian Kibet was crossing the road when the personal car of registration number KBV 754B driven by Kenneth Kibichi knocked him.

Mwamburi said the boy was rushed to the hospital by well-wishers after sustaining serious injuries where he is currently receiving treatment.

"The young boy was crossing the road at around 6pm when he was knocked by the vehicle that was coming from Nakuru," said Mwamburi.

Traffic police officers along the road arrested the driver and towed the vehicle to Salgaa Police station for inspection while police officers conduct investigations to arraign the suspect in court.

The OCPD has called on road users to observe traffic rules to avoid deaths.He also called on drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition by taking them for regular inspection.
