East African Breweries Foundation has invited students to apply for its 2013 university scholarship awards that will benefit bright but needy students across East Africa.
The programme targets top 20 most deserving cases of students joining university with interest in pursuing commerce, business information technology, engineering and food science technology studies.
The annual scholarship programme, which is in its 12th year, is funded under EABL Foundation’s ‘Skills for Life pillar’ plan. Programme’s aim is to give back to the community and has to date benefited more than 200 students.
“We are recruiting the best students from East Africa who cannot afford university education as we have done for the past 12 years,” said Jean Kiarie-Ngumo, EABL’s Head of Sustainability.
She said this is in an effort to give back through education, talent and capacity nurturing that will in turn; help develop the region’s economy.Successful students will receive a complete university scholarship package inclusive of tuition, books, accommodation and a monthly stipend.
The programme partners with Strathmore University and other public universities in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Ngumo advised students wishing to apply for the EABL Foundation scholarships to submit a copy of the university admission letter (for those admitted to public universities), a copy of their KCSE results, a copy of their school-leaving certificate.
