A commission of inquiry into clashes that rocked Tana River and claimed 113 people will be launched on Monday at the Mombasa law courts.
The commission to be addressed on its mandate by Attorney General, Githu Muigai will be chaired by Justice Grace Nzioka.
Other commissioners are Chief Magistrate Emily Ominde and Senior Principal Magistrate Abdulqadir Lorot.
The commission assisting counsel is Wamuti Ndegwa.
The body formed by President Mwai Kibaki is expected to finish its work within 30 days and give recommend who should be charged and measures to taken to stop such the clashes from recurring.
The clashes revolving around the water of Tana River and pastures in the lower Tana delta region has seen bloody clashes in the area even before independence.
During the violence, which has been pittying the Pokomo against Orma, lethal weapons such AK47 rifles have been recovered.
