A child was rescued unhurt when fire razed a house in Kanviu sub-location, Manyatta Division, Embu County on Wednesday.
Property of unknown value was also reduced to ashes when the fire gutted the house belonging to Simon Ireri, a cobbler at Manyatta market.
Embu police boss Gasper Makau said investigation into the cause of the fire was ongoing and called on anyone with information about the incident to report to the nearest police station so that action can be taken.
