Brand Services Agency and Imagine IMC are the new sponsors of the Tannahill Shield – Kenya’s oldest and most prolific Teams Golf Tournament.
This year’s event, which will be held during the Easter weekend, has been sponsored to a tune of Sh750, 000.
The annual 54-hole Tannahill Shield, normally played at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club Course, is currently on its 86th year running. The event is one of the most prestigious local tournaments and normally brings together top golfers, each competing for their clubs.
The event is regarded to be Kenya’s equivalent to the International Ryder Cup.
Last year, the Shield was recaptured by Muthaiga Golf Club from Royal Nairobi Golf Club who won it in 2008. Muthaiga have now won this tournament a record seven times in the last 10 years, while Royal Nairobi Golf Club has won it three times in the 10 years.
Vet Lab Sports Club, which has in the last few years shown great challenge is optimistic of breaking the two-clubs’ dominance on the event.
