Cristiano Ronaldo has finally ended a five-year trophy drought as Al-Nassr clinched the 2025–26 Saudi Pro League title with a commanding 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday night.

The result secured top spot for Jorge Jesus’ side by two points over bitter rivals Al-Hilal, whose late 1-0 win at Al-Fayha proved irrelevant.

Al-Nassr took control early through former Liverpool winger Sadio Mané, who powered home a header in the 35th minute to give the hosts a lead they took into the break, according to Sky Sports.

The second half opened with another decisive strike from Al-Nassr: Kingsley Coman, the ex-Bayern Munich forward, combined with a teammate on the right before rifling a low, precise shot into the far corner to make it 2-0 and put Damac firmly on the back foot.

Damac responded quickly, winning a penalty that Morlaye Sylla dispatched to halve the deficit and inject fresh hope into the visitors. But their revival was short-lived.

Ronaldo, who arrived at Al-Nassr in January 2023 and had been seeking a major domestic trophy in Saudi Arabia, produced a moment of individual genius to restore Al-Nassr’s two-goal cushion.

The 41-year-old curled a low free-kick from a tight angle near the left touchline that threaded through a crowd of players and beat the goalkeeper, sending the home fans into rapturous celebration.

Late on, Ronaldo sealed the win with a fierce, close-range finish, completing a memorable brace and ensuring the title remained in Riyadh.

The triumph marks Al-Nassr’s first Pro League crown since 2019 and gives Ronaldo his first significant club silverware since the Coppa Italia with Juventus in 2021.

Since joining Saudi football he had only previously won the Arab Club Champions Cup, an unofficial tournament, leaving this league success to end a prolonged wait for a major trophy.

Al-Nassr were not at their best in the final game, but their composure under pressure especially from their veteran captain, was decisive.
