On the sidelines of the colourful AFCON, Amina Fall instantly became an online sensation.

Fall, a professional sports photographer, has been making a statement, defying fashion odds by showing up to work fully dapped up.

Her posts from various match venues continue to attract significant engagement, with some drawing more attention than official tournament content.

Online, fans did not hold back, appreciating Fall for her boldness and praising her confident appearance and professional image.

"She didn’t come to snap alone. She fully came prepared," one wrote.

But beyond her style, Fall is an established and award-winning sports photographer whose work has documented key moments in African football.

Her images, shared on Instagram, frequently focus on emotion, atmosphere and fan culture.

She has previously been recognised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), including receiving the CAF Woman Power of the Year award.

The Africa Cup of Nations, organised by CAF, is the continent’s premier football tournament, bringing together national teams every two years.

The tournament is currently reaching the end of its group stage in Morocco, with the knockout phase set to begin this weekend.

As of December 31, 2025, several heavyweights have already asserted their dominance: Nigeria finished their Group C campaign with a perfect record of three wins, while the hosts Morocco secured their spot in the Round of 16 after a convincing 3-0 victory over Zambia.

Other top contenders like Egypt, Senegal, Algeria, and DR Congo have also safely advanced.

The final group matches for Groups E and F are being decided today, including high-stakes clashes for the defending champions Ivory Coast and Cameroon, both of whom are fighting to secure their positions before the Round of 16 kicks off on January 3, 2026.

Since its launch in 1957, AFCON has grown into a major sporting and cultural event, with increasing attention on off-field stories alongside the action on the pitch.

The 2025 tournament in Morocco has continued that trend, with fan culture, fashion and social media shaping much of the public conversation.
