Those who were killed on Saturday included Sheryll Awino, a 20-year-old female student of Mawego National Polytechnic who was expectant. She was killed by her boyfriend in her rental house near the polytechnic. Sheryl's four-month-old female foetus was also stabbed to death in the womb.

Francis Opiyo, an SDA Church elder, was killed at Ebeneza SDA Church in Sub-South Sub-county. Opiyo was killed by his fellow elder, who accused him of being in extramarital affairs with his wife.

Boas Owino, 27, was killed by a male student of Asumbi Teachers Training College at Ogongo Tir village in Mbita Sub-county. Wino and the assailant were fighting over who would be recognised as the real lover of a Form Four girl at Lala Secondary School.

Dorothy Awuor, a 28-year-old woman, was stabbed to death in Ndhiwa Sub-county in what was suspected to be a love triangle. Awuor was stabbed by some men on her way from a nightclub.

Benson Ondiala, 40, was stabbed to death in his house by unknown gangsters at Miramba Village, Gwassi West Location in Suba South Sub-county early Saturday.

On Friday, a woman identified as Jane Atieno was lynched in Sindo town, Suba Central Sub-county, for allegedly stealing a baby.

On Wednesday, two children, Gefter John, 33, and a grandson in their family, Gervan Emmanuel, 3, died in a suspected arson at Ombok village in Mbita Sub-county.
