A gust of wind briefly exposed part of Millicent Omanga’s legs as she addressed supporters at a political rally in Nairobi on Tuesday, sparking reactions online.
Omanga was speaking at a Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) event in Nairobi, where she was among other politicians.
Omanga appeared on stage in a figure-hugging green dress featuring a dramatic slit and a flowing design.
However, the outfit appeared to demand a little cooperation from the weather. The wind had other plans.
As Omanga addressed the crowd, a strong gust caught the loose section of the dress around the slit, causing the fabric to billow and briefly expose part of her legs.

Photographs and videos from the event quickly circulated on social media, with some users defending her choice of outfit and urging others to stop trolling her over her appearance.
@MdauMzalendo wrote: “Leave Omanga alone...let ‘Mama Miradi’ parade her development projects. If your wives have no ‘thayus’...stop your jealousy...didn’t the English people say ‘if you have it...flaunt it’?”
@CorporateMujaHid also praised Omanga's look, arguing that she had previously faced criticism over her appearance.
“Watu wali bully huyu mama to being fit now they want to bully her to fatness again. She looks guud,” he wrote.
However, not everyone was impressed.
@RensonaA16823 questioned whether the outfit was appropriate for a political leader addressing a gathering.
“Why should a whole leader dress like that, standing in front of a big congregation hoping everyone to listen, come on,” the user wrote.
Rather than staying silent, Omanga moved quickly to address the clip circulating online.
In a post that matched the lighthearted mood of the moment, she wrote: “Ata upepo jameni...msinihande wadosi wangu.”
Omanga is a businesswoman and former nominated senator who has built a public profile through politics, entrepreneurship and her active presence on social media.
She served as a nominated senator between 2017 and 2022 under the Jubilee Party.
She recently joined the Democracy for Citizens Party after leaving the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), signalling her intention to make another attempt at the Nairobi Women Representative seat in 2027 after a failed 2022 attempt.
