Bradley Marongo, popularly known as Gen Z Goliath, is currently in South Africa where he is contributing to a new Netflix production.

The Vihiga-born social media phenomenon and creative talent has steadily built a reputation for bold his goliath height when he was first spotted during the first Anti-Finance Bill dubbed Gen Z protests, in 2024.

Sources close to the project say Marongo has been involved both in front of the camera and in development sessions, bringing his East Africa’s talent to South Africa.

His participation highlights a growing trend of East African creatives joining global projects, like Lenana Kariba, Emmanuel Mugo, Luppita Nyong’o and Edi Gathegi.

While details about the Netflix film remain scarce, he has been documenting parts of his journey on social platforms, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses without revealing everything.

The 27-year old, who says he stands over 8 feet tall, has gone viral after sharing how his extraordinary height shapes daily life.

Born and raised in Majengo, Vihiga County, nicknamed the “Gen Z Goliath”, moved to Nairobi two years ago seeking better opportunities.

Marongo describes constant attention when he shops, and serious difficulty finding clothes and shoes; he wears a size 48 and says he has never worn closed shoes, instead ordering custom-made ones. He credits his growing fame with improving his circumstances and has since seen results.

Medical experts note that extreme height is usually caused by conditions like gigantism or acromegaly, disorders of excessive growth-hormone production, though some genetic syndromes (Sotos, Beckwith-Wiedemann, Weaver) can also drive abnormal growth.

Kenyans were in support with most people congratulating him for the role.
