A tragic love triangle turned deadly in Kitengela after a police officer allegedly fell to his death from the fourth floor of an apartment block following a confrontation over a woman.
Police Constable Manasseh Ithiru, who was attached to Kitengela Police Station, died on the spot after reportedly being thrown off a balcony at a residential building.
The shocking incident was reported to police by a local bodaboda rider, Evans Barasa, who had dropped the officer at the apartment earlier in the evening.
According to Barasa, the deceased had requested to be dropped at the location at around 7pm and planned to be picked up later.
Ithiru was visiting a woman identified as Irene Wavinya Nzioka, 27, who lives in room 416 of the apartment. However, drama unfolded when another man, Sergeant Abubakar Said, a police officer attached to CIPU EPZ Camp in Athi River, showed up at the house unannounced.

He, too, was reportedly in a relationship with Wavinya.
What began as a tense confrontation between the two men reportedly escalated into a physical fight, with tragic consequences.
According to preliminary investigations, Ithiru was allegedly overpowered during the altercation and thrown from the balcony of the fourth-floor apartment.
Kitengela DCI officers and crime scene investigators responded swiftly and documented the scene. The officer’s lifeless body was found in a pool of blood in the parking lot below with multiple injuries, including severe trauma to the head.
The body was taken to Shalom Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
Police have since arrested both Sergeant Abubakar Said and Irene Wavinya, who are being held in custody at Kitengela Police Station to assist with ongoing investigations.
The case is currently being handled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kitengela.
