A stolen passport belonging to a UK tourist stranded in Nairobi has been recovered days after a kind-hearted Kenyan man took him in and shared his story online.
Content creator and self-proclaimed minister of foreign affairs, Thithad, who went viral for helping Cliff Hirneisen, shared an update confirming that the passport had been dropped off at the caretaker’s office of his residence.
In a video, Thithad held up the passport and thanked Kenyans for their support.
“The passport has been returned. It was left at the caretaker’s office. Thank you, Kenyans,” he said.

Cliff, who had lost his documents and money during recent anti-police protests, was first seen in a viral video looking distressed, drinking on the street, and with nowhere to go. With no friends or support in Kenya, he asked for help online.
Thithad responded to the call, giving Cliff food and shelter in his small bedsitter. He then used social media to share updates and ask Kenyans to help the foreigner return home.
In an earlier video, Thithad explained that the documents had been stolen by unknown women.
“If you’re the one who stole this man’s passport, know that we’re with him here. He’s lost and doesn’t even know where his next meal will come from,” he said.
Over several days, Thithad continued to take great care of Cliff and shared that he was doing everything possible to help.
In a touching moment, Cliff, now looking calmer, was asked to give a message to Kenyan youth. He simply said, “Retaliate,” a word now commonly used during youth-led protests.
Speaking to TNX, Thithad said the situation was being taken care of, and he was hopeful that Cliff would soon be able to return home.
Kenyans online have praised Thithad’s actions, calling him a symbol of kindness and humanity.
