Kenya has in the last 24 hours recorded 465 new cases of Covid-19. The new cases now push the national infections tally to 108,827.

The positive Covid cases were from a sample size of 5,691. The new cases comprised 422 Kenyans and 43 foreigners.

The cumulative tests conducted so far stand at 1,333,690.

From the 279 men and 186 women, the age range was between one year and 91.

In a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 20 patients have been discharged.

However, two more patients succumbed to Covid-19, pushing the deaths tally to 1,876. 

The total number of recoveries now stands at 87,570. From the new recoveries, 17 were from health facilities across the country while three were from the Home Based Isolation and Care.

Some 488 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities with 1,394 on Home Based Isolation and Care and 69 in ICU.

Nairobi county was leading with 310 new cases followed by Kiambu 54, Nakuru 28, Mombasa 11, Tharaka Nithi 11 and Kajiado 10 cases.

Machakos had 9 positive cases, as Busia reported 8, Kitui 7, Meru 3, Laikipia 3, Kilifi 3, Uasin Gishu 3, Kwale 1, Makueni 1, Marsabit 1, Murang'a 1 and Isiolo 1.
