American singer and actress Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have welcomed their first child together, marking a new chapter for the Grammy-winning star.
Although representatives for the 40-year-old singer have yet to issue a formal statement, multiple US media outlets have confirmed the birth. The couple was recently spotted in California carrying their newborn during a low-key public outing.
Details about the baby, including the name, sex and exact date of birth, have not been publicly disclosed.
The birth fulfils a long-held desire for Gaga, who has spoken openly about her hopes of becoming a mother.
In a 2020 interview, the “Bad Romance” singer described motherhood as her “next starring role” while discussing her hopes for family life.
More recently, Gaga has spoken about her approach to raising children, saying she would want them to have the freedom to discover themselves and develop their own identities rather than having adult expectations imposed on them.
Gaga and Polansky’s relationship began in late 2019 and became public in early 2020, when they were photographed together at a New Year’s Eve event. Their relationship deepened during the Covid-19 pandemic, when they spent extended periods together in quarantine.
Polansky, a technology executive, is also involved in cancer research through his role with the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
Gaga, meanwhile, has long been involved in mental health advocacy through the Born This Way Foundation, which she founded in 2012.
After keeping their relationship largely private, Gaga confirmed their engagement in 2024 after she was seen referring to Polansky as her fiancé during the Paris Olympics.
The arrival of their child now marks a significant new chapter for the couple.
