Kenya’s representative at the 75th Miss World anniversary edition, Ivy Trizah Muhenje Akala, has been named among Africa’s Top 6 finalists in the Beauty with a Purpose challenge.
The achievement also places her project among the Top 24 Beauty with a Purpose entries globally, putting her among contestants whose initiatives were selected from across the world.
Ivy’s project, Showing Love Behind Bars, focuses on supporting mothers and children affected by incarceration at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
Through the initiative, she seeks to provide hope, care and support to imprisoned mothers and their children, who often face emotional, social and financial challenges as a result of incarceration.
Beauty with a Purpose is a key component of the Miss World competition, giving contestants a platform to highlight social issues and champion initiatives aimed at creating positive change in their communities.
Beyond the recognition, Ivy also impressed in the Top Model fast-track challenge, where she advanced as part of Team Africa, further showcasing her strength in fashion and presentation.
She now joins five other African contestants selected among the leading Beauty with a Purpose finalists from the continent.
They are Rumzia Sule of Ghana, Ireen Navicha of Malawi, Mariyam Konneh of Sierra Leone, Trivia Elle Muhoza of Uganda and Brunette Makanaka Makanyiso of Zimbabwe.
The recognition marks another milestone for Ivy as she continues to represent Kenya on the global Miss World stage.
