Tanzanian music stars Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu have announced that they are expecting their first child together, marking a new chapter in one of East Africa's most talked-about celebrity relationships.
The 36-year-old Bongo Flava superstar shared a series of maternity photos featuring his 32-year-old partner, Zuchu, on Instagram on Thursday, July 30. Accompanying the images, Diamond wrote: "A new heart beats in the family," confirming the couple's pregnancy.
The announcement comes just weeks after fans were left puzzled when Zuchu publicly revealed that she had ended her relationship with Diamond.
The revelation followed months of speculation about the state of their romance despite the couple exchanging traditional wedding vows in June 2025 after dating for more than four years.
Their relationship has often made headlines, with the pair experiencing several highly publicised breakups and reconciliations over the years. However, the pregnancy announcement appears to signal a fresh beginning for the couple, who have also collaborated on several hit songs under Diamond's WCB Wasafi record label, where Zuchu is one of the label's biggest stars.
The baby will be Diamond Platnumz's fifth child. The award-winning singer is already father to four children from previous relationships. He shares daughter Tiffah and son Nillan with Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan, son Naseeb Junior with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna, and son Dylan with Tanzanian model and influencer Hamisa Mobetto.
In August 2025, during an interview with American radio personality Angela Yee, Diamond said he maintained a healthy co-parenting relationship with all the mothers of his children, describing their relationship as "cool."
The pregnancy announcement has since attracted thousands of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities across East Africa, with many celebrating the couple as they prepare to welcome their newest family member.
