The goat had been part of a grazing flock.

A man is behind bars accused of raping a goat in a field - and claiming he asked the animal for permission before carrying out the vile act.

The animal’s owner reportedly thought Kennedy Kambani was trying to steal it, near a town where pop queen Madonna adopted three of her children.

But when he returned with neighbours to catch the 21-year-old, they found him having sex with the creature in Malawi, Africa, the owner told police.

The goat had been part of a grazing flock on the outskirts of Mchinji.

Police Inspector Lubrino Kaitano said: “The owner Pemphero Mwakhulika thought Kambani was stealing it.

“So he alerted the people. When they arrived at the scene they were shocked to see him having sexual intercourse with the goat.”

Kambani was apprehended and taken to a police station and charged with bestiality.

He reportedly claimed he had asked the animal’s permission first to have sex with it.

The animal's gender has not been disclosed.

Music legend Madonna adopted twins Stella and Esther Mwale from the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji when they were four in 2017.

One of her other children, David Banda, 13, also lived there before she adopted him in 2006.

In November, in neighbouring Zambia, sicko Reuben Mwaba, 22, was jailed for 15 years and hard labour after he was caught naked raping his friend’s pregnant goat in Kasama.

And earlier the same month bricklayer Feselani Mcube, 33, was convicted of raping his neighbour’s pregnant goat in his bed in Winterveldt, South Africa.

Kennedy Kambani has been charged with sex crimes against the animal.
