A former Senator was on Tuesday night attacked by thugs at the Globe Cinema roundabout as he was walking home.
According to a statement by the DCI, the former legislator was accosted by the muggers as he made his way from Kirinyaga road to his rented room in Ngara.
The thugs made away with his mobile phone and other valuables, but not before inflicting injuries on him.
Police officers on patrol in the area rushed him to a city hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
