Ndovu Kuu [Instagram]

Music producer Krispah popularly aka Ndovu Kuu thanks to his hit song Ndovu ni kuu featuring Khaligraph Jones, is over the moon after Google, through its online video sharing and social media platform – YouTube, recognised one of his milestones.

Taking to social media, an excited Krispah shared a short video clip showcasing a Silver Plaque from YouTube which serves as a creator award for subscriber milestones. This play button is awarded to channels that have surpassed the milestone of 100,000 (or 100k) subscribers and Krispah is delighted to have surpassed the mark.

“Aki walae...God bless y'all…Time for that new music…That New Direction,” he shared.

According to YouTube, channels that have surpassed this level are eligible to apply for a digital verification badge.

His fans camped at the comment section with congratulatory messages to him for the milestone.

It is reported that since Ndovu Kuu joined the platform in 2015, his channel has accumulated an estimate of 113,000 subscribers and nearly 11 million views.

This recognition comes barely three months after a song he was featured in by Lil Maina (Kishash) hit 1 million views on YouTube. It is believed that the song reached the milestone only 19 days after it was released.

Last year, the song Ndovu Kuu was deleted from YouTube after upcoming artist Dexta Briyanka, who claimed to be Kenyatta University’s ambassador reported the song.

Responding to the claims, Krispah took to social media to caution individuals against taking advantage of artists and reporting their work, stating that they too work hard for their money and will therefore not be bullied.

"This people misusing YouTube tools to bring artists down please know artists are doing business. We are out here spending our hard-earned money to popularize our brands and you want to make us look stupid as though we are doing child's play, we will not allow that," he said.
