Ben Pol appointed ambassador for environment conservation.

Tanzanian singer Benard Michael Paul Mnyang'anga, better known by his stage name Ben Pol, has been appointed ambassador for environment conservation by Selemani Jafo, the Minister of State in the country's Vice President's office.

Ben Pol's appointment comes as a recognition following his role on the conservation scene over the last few years.

Through an official statement by his management, Ben Pol said his objective is to become a role model and create a sustainable future for the coming generation.

"I strongly believe that nature and humanity can thrive together and want to make this a reality for my son and for all Tanzanians. My objective is to become a role model and to work towards a bright and sustainable future for the new generation, one that is respectful of nature and the environment at large," stated Ben Pol.

The Moyo Mashine singer, who is also a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) champion, was first appointed ambassador for WildAid in 2015.

In 2017, he participated in the World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour. Two years later, he was appointed ambassador for Justdiggit, a grassroot organisation on a mission to cool down the planet by regreening Africa.

Ben Pol has recently been trending following his divorce from Keroche Heiress Anerlisa Muigai barely a year after tying the knot.

A statement from his management confirmed the divorce; however, the singer refused to give further details, terming the issue a 'private matter'.

"At this time, Ben Pol would like to confirm that his divorce proceedings are in progress at the primary court but have not yet been finalized.

"These proceedings are a very private matter and he will not discuss any details out of respect for all parties involved. He kindly asks that space and privacy be given to him and his family during these challenging times," read the statement.
