Police in Uasin Gishu County are pursuing a teacher after a crop of Cannabis Sativa (bhang) was found in her homestead.

The plants, which were intercropped with kales in a garden within the teacher’s homestead, were found at the Soy township home on Tuesday, according to police.
Yesterday, Soy Sub-county Police Commander Fanuel Nasio said the teacher who was not home at the time of the police raid on Tuesday has been traced to Busia County. Nasio said one of the teacher’s sons is being held at Soy Police Station and is helping with investigations.

“The 100 cannabis plants were thriving in a homestead where the teacher lives with some of her workers. It is surprising they were planted in a place where no one expected anyone could grow a banned substance,” Nasio said.
