NRG radio presenter Mwalimu Rachel, real name Rachel Muthoni Njeru, has been charged with robbery with violence, contrary to section 299 (2) of the Penal Code.

Appearing at the Kikuyu Law Courts on January 31, Rachel was charged alongside four others not in court for allegedly robbing Martin Mbugua of valuables worth Sh103,000.

According to the charge sheet, Rachel and her accomplices allegedly committed the crime on January 17 at Kinoo, Kikuku sub-county within Kiambu County.

The radio presenter and talent manager was accused of violently robbing Mbugua of a wrist watch worth Sh35,000, two silver chains valued at Sh65,000 and Sh3,600 in cash with help from her accomplices.

Speaking to SDE earlier this week, Mbugua’s guardian claimed that they were in discussion with the radio presenter for an out-of-court settlement. However, the discussions bore no fruits.
