It’s exactly one year since former TV Anchor, Joey Muthengi quit her job at Citizen TV.

Taking to her social media platforms today, the former 10 over 10 and Daybreak host opened up about struggling after leaving the station.

“Hey November! Today marks one year since I left my last job. It was a very difficult decision and I had no idea where I was headed afterwards. Won't lie I've had some tough days.” Joey wrote.

“Yet God has guided me to the place I am now,” she continued. “Today I am happy, I am content and I know that I am loved. I'm so thankful for the people who have stuck by me and encouraged me along the way. God bless.”

Life after Citizen TV

After leaving the station, Muthengi revealed that she would be focusing on her perceived romantic relationship with international Kenya footballer MacDonald Mariga following their joint betting advertisment gig.

However, in numerous interviews, she denied dating Mariga but left room to think otherwise.

“Mariga is a cool person. I am fond of him. I will be moving to Italy in January and I guess time will tell what next,” she told MondayBlues.

Did time tell us anything?

What time didn’t tell us was that one of them would be interested in politics. MacDonald Mariga is vying for the Kibra MP seat while Joey returned to Capital FM where she co-hosts The Jam Show alongside Martin Kariuki.
