A petition challenging the nomination of footballer McDonald Mariga as the Jubilee party’s flag-bearer has been dismissed.
Political Parties Dispute Tribunal Chairman Kyalo Mboobu dismissed the petition, saying the body lacked jurisdiction over the matter.
“Since Mariga’s documents had been accepted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), we cannot entertain this application,” he said.
He noted that Mariga's nomination certificate had been accepted by IEBC, paving the way for him to participate in the Kibra by-election.
Kyalo advised the petitioner, Morris Peter Kinyanjui, to seek remedy elsewhere.
