President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy president William Ruto led other dignitaries in attending the wedding of Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi’s daughter Makena Murungi and her husband James Bukusi at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.
The president took the opportunity to encourage the youth to accept each other in disregard of tribe and religion.
"May the journey of your marriage be characterized by love, trust and hope. Kenya will become a more cohesive, secure and prosperous nation when our young people start accepting one another without using tribe or religion as a consideration," wrote the president.
