Has a private helicopter firm linked to a senior politician taken over emergency evacuation services from a medical NGO?
This is the question on many people’s lips after a chopper linked to the politician was recently availed to evacuate security officers who had been injured in separate incidents.
Initially, according to terms of a private insurance scheme for security organs, the NGO was a component of the deal to exclusively provide evacuation but it is now being slowly edged out.
The most recent incident was over the weekend, when the private chopper was dispatched to the boarder of Nakuru and Narok counties to airlift a policeman injured in ethnic violence.
