After his A1 Entertainment stable launch was interrupted by people who were alleged to be National Environment Management Authority (Nema) officials and Nairobi County askari, flamboyant businessman Kevin Obia says the attack could have been politically-motivated.
Together with radio presenter Shaffie Weru, Obia was arrested during the big launch day at Dusit D2 hotel where top showbiz acts and personalities among them CMB Prezzo, KRG, Otile Brown, Deputy President’s son Nick Ruto, former President Mwai Kibaki’s grandson Sean Andrews were among the guest.
The said people drove into the venue as drinks and bitings were being served and ordered everyone out threatening that the party would not go on and anyone defying the order would be arrested.
Shaffie and Obia showed up later as the event was moved to Kiza Launch where Obia treated the guests to drinks.
“I am not sure why all that happened as no one really cared to explain but it is clearly behind us. The company has been launched and we are up and running,” Obia told Pulse.
