Even as it makes rotation on Trace TV and MTV Base, local stations seem to have conspired not to play Papa Dennis’ new Mayaya release, a remix the gospel singer feature’s Nigerian pop star Flavour.
“I wonder what this is all about. All the deejays running local TV and radio programmes have the song and even after my fans request for it, they are not playing it. I wonder why. It is not a question of quality, neither is there anything vulgar about it…this is funny,” he lamented.
“I think there is this element, this judgement among our deejays and show hosts…Once you sing with a secular singer, they judge you harshly. The fact that I did the remix with Flavour does not mean I am not saved. Who are you to judge?” he wondered. It could be this new challenge that has gotten the Pulse Music Video Award (PMVA) winner recording a new single Ibaki Story!
