Top celebrities from across East Africa joined the race last night as East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) launched the Twende Kazi reality TV show.

The Nairobi hosted red carpet affair featured the who-is-who in the entertainment and corporate scene across the region.

The show is a first of its kind, a 50-day racing affair that will see celebrities carry a bottle from Kenya to London where the regional hero, celebrated Kenyan rugby export Humphrey Kayange will receive it.

The show’s host is the sassy Channel O VJ, actress, radio and TV personality, Joey Muthengi. In the company of 1968 Olympic Champion Kipchoge Keino will be yet another great athlete; Ezekiel Kemboi.

Charles Bukeko better known as Papa Shirandula will also take part in the challenge, which will test his resilience and fighting spirit as will Uganda’s bad boy Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool.

Ugandan Radio Presenter Flavia Tumisiime is also part of the star-studded line-up together with former Capital FM radio presenter Seanice Kacungira.

Rapper STL will have to prove her mettle, while it will be interesting to see if volleyball player Janet Wanja will bring her enviable experience to the daring challenges she will be presented with.

King wa Rap Collins Majale is a monument in the evolution of Kenyan music and it is for this reason that he has been chosen as one of the celebrities to take part in this exciting phase of Tusker’s ode to the country’s 50th anniversary.

Also in the cast is Ugandan crooner Maurice Kirya who will be joined in the expedition by the dynamic duo that is Radio and Weasel. Former beauty queen Pinky Ghelani is known for her elegance. Will she be able to rough it out in a foreign country with limited resources?
