Radio queen Gathoni Wa Muchomba and Ann Nyokabi

Kiambu women representative Ann Nyokabi will battle it out with Former radio queen Gathoni Wa Muchomba for the Jubilee nominaion ticket.

Gathoni Wa Muchomba who also worked for President Uhuru’s media station is not taking chances to unseat the incumbent who is also President Uhuru’s cousin.

“I’m ready for the polls to face off with my opponents. I can vie in Kiambu because that is where I’m married,” she told The Nairobian.

A few people have questioned why she was interested in Kiambu yet she had previously vied in Murang’a.

But the radio queen who enjoys a huge fan base in Kikuyu has warned other aspirants that she will not be intimidated to drop her political ambitions.

“The people of Kiambu know very well who has their interests at heart and I know they will not allow anyone to sleep on their job, it’s time for change,” said the radio queen, adding that, “Its laughable when some people continue to criticise me, I’m reminding them that I am married in Kiambu and I live in Ruiru so nobody can stop me. Let the people decide.”

Gathoni further claims that the current women representative has failed miserably to safeguard and uplift the livelihoods of deserving people in the county.

“I’m not unseating the incumbent because I have more resources or she is related to someone. She has just not delivered,” Gathoni told The Nairobian.
