A senior Nyanza politician with 2 wives has managed to keep his concubine and secret kids apart this Christmas.
The man, Oluoch (not his real name) has a long-time girlfriend who works with an airline. She lives in Nairobi’s South B estate with their five year old son. The girlfriend Vivian (not her real name) has in the last six years ensured that her annual leave falls in December.
The strategy is simple. Olouch and his official family travel upcountry, Vivian too flies with them and on two occasions, the three women have boarded the same flight.
This year, Vivian and her son have already been booked into one of Kisumu’s new hotel with an SUV at her disposal. She told The Nairobian that she spends time visiting friends and relatives who know she is the man’s secret family.
“As such, our boy gets to meet his aunties and other relatives in the village who, like the father, are in agreement that the boy must be protected, but at the same time made to interact with the family,” says Vivian.
“Attending to visitors and keeping up with the clan members keep the wives busy and engaged as he roams around with his peers. That way, he makes time for us to even visit his mother’s village,” she adds.
