Next weekend, Playmakers Group will stage two short plays in one at Nakuru Players Theatre. This marks the return of theatre shows to Nakuru after a months-long break.

The first play is titled 'The Gist'. The two short plays in The Gist are 'The Door' and 'My Truth' both written by Julian Kiprotich, a seasoned playwright and actor.

'The Door' revolves around two men in a mental health institution who are planning a breakout. In their mind, they are artists who tested positive for Covid-19 pandemic and are in isolation.

They have a scheduled show in two weeks' time. Will they make it?

They try to unravel what transpired during the Covid outbreak as the government struggles to address the challenges the pandemic throws up..

The play is directed by Michael Kamunya and features Fidel Muhando and Flora Kariuki.

"We have taken time to come up with two short plays that are a must watch by the lovers of Arts and Scene in the city. We are ready to give our fans what they need this time," said Kamunya.

'My Truth' explores the lies that couples tell each other in marriages.

It involves a couple, Henry (played by Muhando) and his wife, who have tried to get a baby without success after several visits to a medical clinic but get stuck in a lift with a stranger (Kamunya) who seems well known to the wife.

Things get very sweaty for 10 minutes before the doctor (played by Brian Kerongo) reveals to Henry that he is soon going to be a father.
