President Yoweri Museveni has unfollowed iconic Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone on twitter days after the later expressed interest in joining politics.
Speaking in Jinja at the Kakindu stadium, Chameleone announced that he has joined the Democratic Party as he seeks the Kampala mayoral seat come 2021.
The singer further told the crowd not to associate him with Museveni’s ruling party, National Resistance Movement.
Following Chameleone’s shock announcement that even stunned DP’s leadership, the president unfollowed him, though it’s unclear whether decision was made by him or his social media handlers.
Before unfollowing Chameleone, Museveni was following 24 people, with Bebe Cool being the only other musician Museveni was following.
