Popular Kenyan Viner, Seth Gor has come out to clear his name months after his ex-lover, Shiko Phyna, publicly accused him of physical abuse following a disagreement. Opening up in a lengthy Twitter post, Seth explained that he had tried to break up with Shiko, and an argument ensued on the day of the incident. Contrary to earlier reports, Seth explains that he never laid a finger on Shiko, stating that she was the one who attacked him and hurt her finger in the process.

“Last year, hours before my birthday, my ex-girlfriend violently attacked me because of my insistence in ending that relationship. It has been a rocky relationship; we had our good days and bad days – and the bad days were physically and mentally exhausting.

“As she physically assaulted me, I blocked my face with my hands and one of her blows ended up breaking her fingernail. This is where the facts started getting murky, she ran to a police station and obtained an OB and a P3 form (She is a cop and called her colleagues on me) then she immediately launched a campaign and reached out to bloggers to paint me as an abuser,” he wrote.

The Vines of Africa CEO disclosed that his ex-girlfriend reached out to him and apologized after it was established that she had wrongfully accused him of attacking her. Still, as he explains, the dark cloud of being an abuser has stuck with him.

“A few days later, all the facts were laid bare to bloggers and the police and her OB/statement was withdrawn, and she apologized. The consistent misreporting of this incident has become a dark cloud in my life and I want it to go away. My sincere appeal to everyone; please report the facts – being a victim of emotional and physical abuse is a tough tag to carry, it’s even worse when your grief is taken away by misreporting.

Shiko

In a rejoinder, Shiko contradicted Seth’s tweet terming his explanation as ‘lies’. “After 8 months you decide to “clear the air with lies?” she wrote.

In a separate post, Shiko, a cop by profession, explained that while they were still dating, Seth revealed to her he was accused of raping his then ex-girlfriend. Shiko says Seth needed advice on how to go about the matter if he went ahead to report the issue to the police, maintaining that he was innocent.

“I talked to him and consoled him as a good girlfriend. Looking back now, I should have left immediately he told me that but I didn’t. He threatened suicide but I still stayed. He claimed that he was mentally exhausted but my thoughts are that he is mentally ill and needs professional help.

“I would love for him to come and give his side of the story about the rape issue since he decided to clear the air on the assault one and also since I gave him mental torture for the 8 months we were together,” she wrote.
