Social media is alight after the highly anticipated Instagram Live battle between RnB legends Teddy Riley and Babyface failed to go as planned.

Babyface, born Kenneth Brian Edmonds, announced the battle on April 11 while revealing that he has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus but had recovered. In celebration on testing negative, Babyface accepted the invite to participate with Teddy Riley on what he called a celebration of black music excellence. He asked the fans to get ready for a night of groove and love.

Eager viewers were disappointed by the show due to technical difficulties on Teddy's side despite having an entire band on set for the performance. The show attracted over 400,000 viewers who were expecting nothing but the best from the two producers and singers. Celebrities led the charge in registering their disappointment.

Rapper Snoopdogg posted a help message on the timeline while Diddy demanded a reschedule.

Singer Toni Braxton asked to be called when her song came on because she had had enough!

Y’all gonna have to let me know when my song come on cause this is cringe pic.twitter.com/dgnOnwpwpA — Toni Braxton (@tonibraxton) April 19, 2020

The hype man doesn’t know how to fix audio? AND he doesn’t have a mask on either? Teddy! What is going on!? — Toni Braxton (@tonibraxton) April 19, 2020

Podcast host and Author Luvvie Ajayi Jones described Terry Riley as that uncle who does too much. All he needed as an IPhone and a millennial to help him do this instead of a whole band that still jacked up.

Babyface later assured fans that the show would be postponed to another time when there are no technical difficulties and people can hear the music the way it needs to be heard. He thanked the fans for tuning in. Teddy on his end asked his fans for forgiveness for the bungled performance and reassured fans that the show will be done again.
