Detectives on Wednesday impounded Sh102million in fake Euros in Nairobi’s Githurai area.
During the operation, three suspects; Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni and Tabitha Muhuha were arrested and are assisting in further investigations.
According to the DCI, a search in the house occupied by the ladies led the detectives to a suspicious strongly locked safe box.
They managed to unlock it later & found the over 880,090 Euros (fake) in 100 denominations.

The same has been secured and kept as exhibit.
Elsewhere, four suspects were on Tuesday night arrested by detectives in Ruiru after their attempt to steal from a Barclays Bank ATM in the area was neutralized.
A mobile phone they were using to make contact to a source and a sack they were to use in loading the money were among the seized items.
The four; 37-yr-old Hillary Ng’eno of KK Security at Runda, 31-yr-old Jared Nyang’au (G4S Ruiru), 34-yr-old Douglas Momanyi (bodaboda rider) and 43-yr-old Jacob Barasa were ambushed by detectives in the act after several attempts to empty the ATM backfired.
