President Uhuru Kenyatta was in Thika on Wednesday to officially open the M-Pesa Foundation Academy but found himself in a tight corner when a student asked him what he would like to be remembered for.
Joyce Nyawira, a Form Three student at the institution, was keen to know the kind of legacy the Head of State wanted to leave behind and she got an answer.
“It is my hope that I will leave a united and cohesive society, and that we shall have won the war on corruption,” noted the President.
President Kenyatta has in recent weeks reiterated his desire to weed out corrupt officials from government, most notably when he ordered Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri to put his house in order or face the consequences.
