Former Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru’s son Mugambi Mwenda defied grief after scoring a B+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results released by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi on 20 December 2017.
Mwenda, who sat for the papers at the Alliance High School, lost his father in a road accident just a day after the examinations started.
He scored A in Mathematics which was the first paper they sat for and did Physics, CRE paper and Science practicals on the day his father’s burial on 18 November.
Governor Wahome Gakuri died after he was involved in a freak accident on Tuesday 7 November along the Thika-Murang'a road heading to Nairobi for a talk show.
