Manchester United were 1-0 winners over Bournemouth last night at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho was pleased with the win but cast doubt over Ivorian defender Eric Bailly’s fitness, saying that he does not for sure know the magnitude of his injury and that it is ‘serious’.

Speaking after the Bournemouth victory, Mourinho said, “I think it is serious. I don't know. It is an injury that came from the last time he was with the national team. We are trying a conservative treatment but if the treatment is not resulting then probably it will end in a surgery procedure but let's wait a little bit more.”

Bailly has been a key figure in defense for Man United from last season, arguably the best defender the club has at the moment. He has not featured for Mourinho’s men since the defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Man United face West Brom next and Mourinho will be looking to close the gap on leaders Manchester City to 8 points, suppose the Citizens do not win.
