Nyeri nominated MCA Beth Nyawira has come out to defend herself against accusations rallied against her dressing.
Nyawira was kicked out of Nyeri County Assembly for violating
the dress code on Tuesday after another MCA complained about her outfit.
Kirimukuyu MCA Anthony Ndagita asked Deputy Speaker Samuel Kariuki to take action against Nyawira who on the other hand, ordered the Sergeant at Arms to escort her out of the assembly.
Kariuki explained that Nyawira’s sleeveless dress was not part of the accepted dress code.
This came barely a week after the assembly Speaker John Kaguchia warned members against dressing indecently.

Nyawira has since spoken about the ordeal, saying that her dress
was of the right length which she donned to fit a hot day.
She went ahead to say that her male counterparts are intent on humiliating female colleagues rather than serving to the public.
“This is not the first time the issue of the dress code is being
brought up in the assembly. We feel like our male colleagues are out to humiliate
women’, Nyawira said.
