Governor aspirant Gachoki Gitari is claiming there are plans to rig the Friday Jubilee nominations in favour of an opponent.
Mr Gitari, who is also the outgoing Kirinyaga Central MP, claimed the rigging would take place in one of the four constituencies.
Although he declined to specify the particular constituency, political pundits in the area alleged such a move would only take place within Mwea Constituency, which has the swing vote.
He did not, however, say why he had neither reported his claims to the police or the Jubilee Party nominations board.
The aspirant further dispelled rumors that he was entering the race as spoiler given his late declaration for the position.
