This month, Iranians around the world will mark the 38th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran, which shook the world and has dominated international affairs ever since.
How the Islamic revolution in Iran has survived for 38 years despite unrelenting aggression from imperialist powers is inspirational.
If we were to mention just one achievement of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, it would surely be that it is still standing tall and strong 38 years after Iran’s people overthrew the US-backed monarchical regime in 1979.

Neither would accept a newcomer into the geopolitical sphere that is free, independent and sovereign.
Outside of and in spite of their combined calculations, what exactly happened is that Iran stood out to be a free, independent and sovereign state.
The birth of that self-governing, autonomous, and self-reliant Islamic state created waves of excitement and eruption of euphoria throughout the Muslim world.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is blessed with oil and gas, as well as, a highly educated population, which has made great progress in the fields of science and technology.
Advanced technology
Iran is one of the top 10 countries in the world in stem cell research, nanotechnology, nuclear technology and space.

The 1979 Islamic revolution was not another palace coup in which one set of elite grabbed power from another but what the Iran’s Islamic Revolution demonstrates is that once it succeeds in overthrowing an imposed order, a truly Islamic movement becomes impervious to foreign machinations because it enjoys the support of her people.
Led by a pious and religious leadership that maintains a simple lifestyle, unlike the ostentatious lifestyle of most rulers in the world, it enjoyed full public trust and support.
Such qualities enable the leaders and the country to confront any challenges; internal or external and continue to march forward with dignity and honor.
Today, Iran is the most important regional power not because its soldiers are armed with lethal weapons but because of the upright character of its leaders and the commitment of her people.
Iran stands tall today as a direct result of the Islamic Revolution that Imam Khomeini inspired and led 38 years ago, a Revolution that is rooted in the values and principles of Islam.
It was neither a coup nor a palace reshuffle, as are so common in other countries.
The revolution overthrew the old order and ushered in a new one, free from the corrupting influences of the old one and not beholden to the West.
