KISII: A suspect linked to the killing of his expectant wife and daughter was Tuesday arraigned in court to answer to murder charges.
The suspect, Joash Marube, did not take plea as he had no defense counsel.
State Counsel Edwin Otieno told the Kisii High Court that a lawyer for the accused will be appointed by Friday.
Mr Marube was accused that on March 20 this year at Tondori village in Masaba North, Nyamira County, he together with others murdered his wife, Azenath Kerubo, 26, in their matrimonial home.
In the second count, the suspect was also charged for killing his daughter, Naomi Nyatichi Joash, 2.

According to a postmortem report by Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Government pathologists, the suspects were strangled to death.
The report also indicated that the body of the expectant mother had a deep cut on the head, while that of his daughter had a rope tied around her neck.
Judge Chrispine Nagile directed that the suspect be remanded at Keroka police station. "He will remain in custody until March 27, when the court will issue further directions and the suspect allowed to take plea," said Justice Nagile.
